Taboos as driving force

Permalink 0

I hate taboos, even though I know that I am a victim of them myself sometimes.

But I really try to catch those moments and do things differently. I especially dislike old rules and norms that I supposed to decide how I am going to live my life. If I would follow those rules I might just as well flush my creativity down the toilet, because I would never have the motivation that is needed to create when the possibilities are limited by an old, imaginary roof.

At the same taboos helps my motivation. There are few things that feel as good as disproving an old norm. Rules lays the foundation of my life in a twisted and reversed way; they are a counterweight that pushes me forward in my hunt for an own identity, an on life.

It is said that time changes things, but that is a lazy expression. You have to change them yourself.
